Os Refugiados Ambientais a partir da situação dos Haitianos na República Federativa do Brasil
Abstract
Os refugiados ambientais são indivíduos forçados a migrar devido a desastres ambientais ocasionados por causas naturais ou interferência antrópica. Contudo, não estão formalmente reconhecidos em nível internacional por não constarem no rol estabelecido pela Convenção da ONU de 1951. Diante disso, muito tem se discutido quanto a inclusão dessas pessoas na categoria de refugiado. O presente estudo se propõe a analisar o tratamento conferido pelo Brasil aos haitianos que vieram para o território nacional, a partir da verificação de dois eventos naturais que devastaram o país nos anos de 2010 e 2016.
