El patrimonio cultural inmaterial de los pueblos indígenas: su protección en la normativa internacional
Abstract
Originariamente, la protección del patrimonio cultural estuvo enfocada a la salvaguardia los bienes culturales materiales, tanto muebles como inmuebles. Sin embargo, en las últimas décadas la evolución del concepto de patrimonio hizo necesaria la protección de las costumbres y tradiciones culturales de los distintos pueblos y sociedades. Como consecuencia de esta evolución surgió el concepto de patrimonio cultural inmaterial o patrimonio vivo dando lugar a su protección internacional. El objetivo de este escrito es analizar la especial relación entre ese patrimonio cultural inmaterial y los pueblos indígenas para después examinar cómo está protegido específicamente en el ámbito internacional el patrimonio cultural inmaterial de los pueblos indígenas, siendo un factor clave de su identidad.
